Friarside Chat: Fr. Charlie Johnson, O.P., on Mary the Warrior
In celebration of the Assumption of Mary, Father Charlie Johnson, director of the Newman Center at University of Houston, will lead us in a discussion of Mary the Warrior. She is shown in the book of Revelation as a warrior who has brought into the world a new way of dealing with worldly power: Christ (i.e. Love itself). The Virgin Mary, as warrior, helps us see the world as a spiritual battlefield between love and violence.
