Friarside Chat: Fr. Charlie Johnson, O.P., on Mary the Warrior

Mary warriorIn celebration of the Assumption of Mary, Father Charlie Johnson, director of the Newman Center at University of Houston, will lead us in a discussion of Mary the Warrior. She is shown in the book of Revelation as a warrior who has brought into the world a new way of dealing with worldly power: Christ (i.e. Love itself). The Virgin Mary, as warrior, helps us see the world as a spiritual battlefield between love and violence.

Dinner will be provided in the Parish Hall.

  • Time: 6:30 pm

  • Place: Holy Rosary Parish, 3601 Milam St.
